A Little "Twilight" for Oscar Night

Waaaay back at the beginning of Oscar season, when the Bagger was green – greener – and Adam Shankman was just a choreographer-turned-newbie Oscar producer, not one-half of the Academy’s most famous odd couple, he suggested on Twitter that people like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart might be a part of the show.

The reaction, of course, was mixed, with equal parts online shrieking from “Twilight” fans and digital bemoaning from more reserved Oscar-watchers, who worried that the gravitas of the occasion would be undermined in some kind of shrieky, tweeny ratings-grab.

Well, guess who won?

R. Patz is still a no-show, but Ms. Stewart and her “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner, as well as Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron, will all be presenters on the show, the Academy announced earlier this week. (Ms. Cyrus and Mr. Efron have attended before; Ms. Cyrus was even involved with a nominated film, “Bolt,” in 2008.).......

Rob says they're together ~

“Twilight” teenthrob Robert Pattinson is finally coming clean about his relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart - and, it’s what Twi-hards have been suspecting all along.

“It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes,” Pattinson admitted to London’s The Sun at Sunday’s Bafta Academy Awards in the U.K.

The duo have been closed-mouthed about their relationship, but they had planned to make their first public appearance as a couple at the Baftas. Sadly, due to safety precautions, Pattinson, 23, and Stewart, 19, were forced to arrive separately.

“We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy,” Pattinson explained. “This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple, but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy”

He added that the two often have to create distractions in order to be together publicly. “We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.”

Stewart, who picked up the Orange Rising Star award at the ceremony, later joined her “Twilight” co-star at a Grey Goose-sponsored afterparty at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Stewart was snapped leaving the soiree around midnight with Pattinson, who is in town filming “Bel Ami” with Uma Thurman.

The next installment in the “Twilight” saga, “Eclipse,” hits U.S. theaters June 30.

Jackson Rathborne's New Movie "The Last Airbender"

Jackson Rathbone, who plays vampire Jasper in the Twilight Saga movies, will play the lead in the new movie by M. Night Shyamalan The Last Airbender.

The fantasy/science fiction film is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series that take place in a world where the four elements of earth, water, fire and air can be manipulated through martial arts called bending.

Rathbone will play the character of Sokka, a warrior of the South Pole's Southern Water Tribe who can control water.

The movie is set to open this coming summer and is already getting a lot of press time, due to its stunning special effects and also because of Rathbone. The Twilight star will also be in The Twilight Saga's Eclipse movie, which opens on June 30th.

Will Twilight Movies Go 3D?

While the big question on the table is whether the fourth book in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, will be one or two films, with the growing use of technology there is one more question as well, should it be in 3D?

However, instead of waiting to see what Summit Entertainment decides to do, one website decided to launch a poll to see what the public thinks. However, while the votes are being tabulated, there are several factors that should be considered.

To begin, a 3D movie will add an extra fee into the ticket, which is no doubt going to be purchased by mass millions regardless of what happens. Plus, the 3D effects alone could lure many people into the film who otherwise might have skipped it. Of course, for the regular Twilight crowd, paying the extra fee may be quite maddening especially if the film does not deliver.

On the other hand, there is no way that werewolves and vampires do not belong on the 3D screen, in fact just about everything would look great. Although there are a few Twilight fans who do not want to feel as if they are there while Bella and Edward are busy getting intimate.

So what do you think? Should the Saga go 3D?

Taylor is Stretch Armstrong!

In a move that guarantees a female audience where one may not have existed before, Taylor Lautner has been cast to star in Stretch Armstrong, a film based on the Hasbro action figure owned by every prepubescent boy in the 1990s.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the news of the Twilight star's involvement, Universal is forgoing the live-action format and is instead making the movie in 3D, a decision that will push back the scheduled release of May 15, 2011 to some point in 2012.

The story follows an uptight spy who unwittingly exposes himself to a formula giving him the power to, well,... stretch. With the birth of these newfound abilities, Stretch has to learn to adjust in both his everyday life and his crime-fighting escapades.

"In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power," said Donna Langley, Universal co-chairman.

Since his breakout role as Jacob the werewolf in the Twilight franchise, the teen heartthrob appears to be in line to become the next young action star. Besides Stretch, the 17-year-old has also been in talks to play the title character in Max Steel (another superhero), and has signed on as the lead in Cancun, a hostage thriller centered on a martial arts savvy college student who must rescue his buddies and girlfriend while on vacation.

Robert's Sparkly New Comic!

From EOnline:

Lady Gaga and Robert Pattinson have more in common than you think—they both like to sparkle, they both can sing and they both look fabulous in cartoon form.

The second installment of Bluewater Productions' new comic book line, Fame, features none other than your favorite sparkle vamp. The 32-pager doesn't hit comic book stores and until May, but E! News has the exclusive first look.

The issue, written by Kim Sherman and drawn by Nathaniel Ooten, with the cover created by Juan Mar Studios, delves into the star's music, modeling and, of course, those dreamy roles he played in the Harry Potter and Twilight movies.

"I chose to conceptualize A-lister Robert Pattinson from a unique perspective, immersing the reader into the life of the talented actor beyond his most famous role," Sherman says.

"It's our hope that even the most devoted fans will discover a fact or two that takes them completely by surprise," Bluewater president Darren G. Davis says.

Author Stephenie Meyer has already been immortalized in comic, but worry not, K.Stew fans! She'll get her time to shine soon enough.

Shallow Day - Twilight, What Have you Done to My Wife

Too funny! Thanks Audrey for bringing this video to our attention!

Monday, February 15, 2010

From Twilight Lexicon:

Vanity Fair’s new cover features one of their regular pieces that they have been doing for a number of years: a piece on rising female talent in Young Hollywood. This year it has drawn fire because of it’s utter lack of diversity for the second year running.

No one is discounting the talent of the actresses involved in the cover or accusing them of anything inappropriate, but Hollywood insiders are wondering where other names are. Yahoo’s shine stated, “Every woman on its new cover is extremely thin and very, very white. Unless Vanity Fair considers one redhead to be diversity, we feel the need to cry foul.” EW has a pole asking which of the lot will be remembered in 10 years. Currently Anna and Kristen are doing very well in that pole.

So what do you think? Did vanity fair miss the mark? Will Anna and Kristen have substantial careers 10 years from now?

'Breaking Dawn' To Become Two Films? Not Yet, Says Studio

While reports on the Web say the final 'Twilight' installment will be two movies, the studio is staying mum.

By Larry Carroll with

It's something Harry Potter has blazed the trail for, "Twilight" fans have suspected for quite some time and several of the franchise's stars seem eager about. Now, it seems, the word may finally be official: "Breaking Dawn" will be split into two movies.

The news was reported Thursday (February 11) by Deadline Hollywood, although it should be pointed out that many news outlets have "announced" the same fact over the last few months, all apparently premature.

"No decision has been made," a representative for Summit Entertainment told MTV News after the Deadline Hollywood story ran. "As we have said all along, we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring 'Breaking Dawn' to the big screen."

"I have this from several sources and it's definitive," the Web site insists. " 'Breaking Dawn' is the longest in Stephenie Meyer's four-book series lengthwise and it's the most graphic — presenting birth, attempted murder, death and of course vampire bites. ... Summit Entertainment no doubt could save money by making these 'Twilight' Saga movies #4 and #5 back to back and is currently looking for director or directors to helm both features."

In the past, Meyer has expressed mild concern — but faith in the studio — over the possible two-movie idea. Back in December, the split was seemingly reported, then became unofficial once again. Meanwhile, series stars like Anna Kendrick, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have weighed in with various opinions. Much of the consideration for a split seems to stem from a similar decision made on the final Harry Potter novel, which will soon debut as two films.

What does this all mean for the millions of die-hard Twi-hards who would kill for an additional "Twilight" film to be made out of Meyer's series? Well, as we've often learned in the past, months of reoccurring rumors often become eventual fact. Stay tuned for more on the "Breaking Dawn" saga — including, quite possibly, official news at some point — in the weeks and months to come.

Happy Birthday Taylor!

Here's a little birthday "singing" tribute to our man Taylor on his 18th b-day!!!

Thanks to - Great job putting this tribute together!!!

In the wake of Taylor Swift's big Grammy night, we thought we'd highlight another singing Taylor. Taylor Lautner.

That's right. The "Twilight" star might be known for his physical attributes but what about those pipes?

As part of Zap2it's continuing countdown series to Taylor's 18th birthday on Feb. 11, we're taking a look (and listen) to some of his best singing moments throughout his career.

It all starts with his childhood role in "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D." Check out "Dream."

Next, in this behind-the-scenes clip of Taylor in "Cheaper by the Dozen 2." There's a few interview portions with a young, adorable Taylor. He only sings a snippet here, explaining how his costar Steve Martin would lead the singing.

Here's Taylor in an interview with his "Twilight" costars Edi Gathegi and Rachelle Lefevre. It's funny how embarrassed Taylor is when he's outed about singing Miley Cyrus.

More recently, we saw Taylor on "Saturday Night Live" wearing a blond wig, sporting an accent and dancing and singing. That boy has some good comedy skills. He has a mini-solo at the 1:32 mark, and a hilarious expression around 2:06.

Last, but not least, is a music video tribute of "Apologize" that Taylor and his ex-girlfriend once made for school. For the record, Taylor is NOT actually singing, but he sure looks good lip synching. We'd love to see him star in more music videos!

New bromance alert!

Colts fans Taylor Lautner and Rob Lowe are in Miami together to root on their team.

"Taylor's another Colts fan and he's such a great guy," Rob said when I caught up with him at the Audi penthouse party at the W. "He and I are here for the Super Bowl as well, and I brought my boys with me, so we just have a boys club, who's been traveling around on this amazing Colts run."

But Rob says he left his wife home, who's a huge Twi-hard...

"My wife is the Twilight freak in the house and she loves it," he said. "She's really funny. I keep giving her reports on where we're going, what we're doing."

Although it seems like an unlikely friendship between the two actors at first glance, maybe the former Brat Packer is giving the current wolf packer career advice.

At the party, Taylor wasn't drinking and stuck close to his security peeps, although he did take photos with Hilary Swank.

Kellan Lutz - Calvin Klein X Underwear Model!!!!

'Twilight' star Kellan Lutz has become the latest celebrity to model for Calvin Klein Underwear.

The actor, who plays Emmett Cullen in the 'Twilight' films, is the star of the new Calvin Klein X Underwear range.

He told People: "I started out modelling so this is the pinnacle. What more can you do than be on a billboard for something that you grew up thinking was super sexy and classy? It's really prestigious and I love it."

AdvertisementOn stripping to his underwear, he said: "With modelling, there are guys who do the 'Zoolander' thing and it shows off as desperation.

"You just have to have confidence, kick back and have fun with it."

He continued: "I don't see myself as perfect. I never will be and I never want to be. I'm not the good-looking guy with the nice hair like ['Twilight' co-star] Rob Pattinson. I enjoy being not so pretty."

Lutz's ad will debut in March.
