Academy Awards Tonight! A Little Suprise for Twi-Hards???

From Examiner.com:

Last year there were three Twilight stars to grace the red carpet for the Academy Awards/Oscars. Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were presenters, while Anna Kendrick was a nominee in the "Best Supporting Actress" category. The year before that, Robert Pattinson served as a presenter.

As for this year, Anna Kendrick recused herself from the list of those who'll be attending, saying "I couldn’t really handle it. It was enough last year being a nominee."

As you already know, both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have touched down in Vancouver, British Columbia to pick up filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, so that rules them out for Sunday's events.

No word yet on whether Taylor Lautner or any other Twilight star will be there, but at least one producer from the Oscars has spoken to the issue of Twilight fans' interest in the show.

In the attached video (direct link here, for those who can't view it), at the 2:00 mark, Bruce Cohen states, "Hey folks, if you are a Twilight fan . . . For all of you Twi-Hards out there, we have a little surprise for you in our show on Sunday night . . . if you like those three films, I have three words for you: watch the Oscars."

No doubt, many shall. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday, February 27th at 8:00 p.m. One of the co-hosts for the event is James Franco, who, you might recall, is an outspoken Twilight enthusiast. There's even a connection between his post as host and his former interest in portraying a Breaking Dawn character (see here). It should be interesting to see what they drum up for this! (Note that Bruce Cohen is the same guy who brought Franco on board for the job.)

"The Host" Movie Update!!

From HollywoodCrush.mtv.com:

We haven't heard much about the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's other best-selling novel "The Host" since the screen rights were purchased way back in September 2009. (In case you missed it, we cast the leading roles of Melanie/Wanda, Jared and Ian just for funsies.) Well, it now appears the production process is gaining steam as a director has just been announced!

Variety is reporting that "Nanny McPhee Returns" director Susanna White will helm the film written by Andrew Niccol ("The Truman Show"). "The Host" will be just the second feature-length film Susanna will have directed, though she has plenty of TV movie and series experience. Not to mention, "Nanny" had its fair share of special effects, meaning she's likely up for the task of directing a supernatural thriller. With a director in place, it looks like the task of assembling a winning cast can't be too far behind.

For the uninitiated, "The Host" takes place on a post-alien-invasion Earth, in which extra-terrestrials takeover and inhabit human bodies. When Wanderer (also known as Wanda) takes over Melanie's body, she realizes the human isn't quite ready to give up her headspace. And, yes, there's a love triangle. (It wouldn't be a Stephenie Meyer special without one, amiright?)

Though we doubt "The Host" will be as all-consuming a worldwide phenomenon as "Twilight," anything with Stephenie Meyer's name attached is bound to do well at the box office, and we're interested to see how the two film properties will compare.

Are you excited that "The Host" finally has a director?

Breaking Dawn Trailer? It's Not, But it's Pretty Good!

From Muveez.com:

With the first part of the final film from the Twilight Saga due out in less than a year, we're sure the excitement of seeing Rob, Kristen and co on the big screen again is reaching fever pitch.

However, as much as we're counting down the days till we see Edward and Bella getting married, we would have never thought of putting our own Breaking Dawn trailer together!

But that is exactly what Youtube user fervt88 has done! Posted in 2008 (Eclipse wasn't even out then!) fervt88 has managed to capture the important parts of the film, making the short clip look like something Summit Entertainment would release!

Watch it here!

Although it was a really good try, we're going to have to wait for another five months to get the chance to see the REAL Breaking Dawn trailer if it shows at Comic-Con in July.

Robert Presenting at 2011 Oscars? Maybe!

From Celebs.gather.com:

Will Robert Pattinson be presenting at the 2011 Oscar Awards Show? Yes, at least according to imdb.com but Robert’s fans won’t know for sure because the official list of Oscars presenters doesn’t have him listed… yet. Could it have all been a misunderstanding? Hopefully not! Robert was a great presenter at the 2009 Academy Awards.

So, now the buzz on the Internet is will he or won’t he be on stage this year? The clear consensus of fans is for the 83rd Academy Awards show to bring Pattinson back. However, even if Robert isn’t one of the chosen presenters, there will be plenty of A-list celebrities present to hand over awards and say, “And the Oscar goes too…”

Some of the amazing talent gracing the stage as presenters will be Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Robert Downey, Jr. and even Sandra Bullock. It would be amazing to see Robert Pattinson’s name listed amongst those stars but there’s always next year.

Kellan Continues to Support Calvin Klein at Fashion Week

From Examiner.com:

On Sunday, Kellan Lutz (“Emmett Cullen” in the Twilight series films) hit up the fall 2011 Men’s Collection show for Calvin Klein during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City alongside Joe Jonas, Zac Efron, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s Jack Huston (“Royce King”).

As you probably remember, Kellan Lutz was the star of Calvin Klein’s latest underwear line advertisement campaign.... So there is certainly a relationship in place between Lutz and Calvin Klein, who reportedly provided Lutz with front row seats for the event.

There’s also a relationship in place between Lutz and each of the guys he watched the show with.

With Jack Huston, they were co-stars in Eclipse, so that’s obvious. Equally as clear is the relationship between Joe Jonas and Kellan Lutz, since Jonas dates Ashley Greene, and Greene and Lutz are both co-stars and close friends. As for Zac Efron, both he and Lutz were filming in Baton Rouge (Lutz with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and Efron with The Lucky One) for a while and shared an enthusiasm for football by watching the Saints during off-time.

Anyone else have a sneaking suspicion Kellan Lutz is big on bro-mances? He sure seems like a guy's guy.

Cameron Bright Breaking from Filming to Chat

From Examiner.com:

As you know, Cameron Bright ("Alec" in the Twilight series films) has been in Baton Rouge, Louisiana over the past few months filming his parts for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

In January, he tweeted, "Yesterday was Volturi photo shoot and press day. Not sure when the interviews for media will be aired so stay tune[d]."

Well, evidently, one of those press day interviews has made its way to the surface because a local Louisiana journalist, Jim Brown, spoke with Cameron Bright about Breaking Dawn.

In it, Bright discusses his take on why the Twilight series films have become such a worldwide phenomenon. For him, it seems, it's the identification fans feel with the characters.

"I'd say it started with the books . . . it definitely started with the books. And I think the reason the books made it so far . . . is that it's not just fourteen or fifteen year old girls, it's almost forty, fifty year old mothers and grandmothers . . . Everybody can find something that they relate to in the books . . . it becomes a part of you, and I think that's why these movies have blown up, because everyone can relate to them . . . ."

Peter Creates a Valentine's Day Love Story for Wife, Jennie Garth

From EOnline.com:

Peter Facinelli has his three daughters with Jennie Garth to thank for the inspiration behind "Accidentally in Love," the romantic Valentine's Day tale he wrote for his wife of 10 years.

"I originally wrote this script for maybe me and my wife to play it, but then I got a little busy. I was doing press on ['The Twilight Saga:] Eclipse' at the time it was shooting, and I had no time to act in the film," Peter says. "I also worried that this would become the Jennie Garth/Peter Facinelli movie instead of a film with two characters. Our playing together could have detracted from the believability of the story and become a distraction. So I took a step back and let my wife kiss someone else."

So as Jennie locked lips with her hunky co-star Ethan Erickson, Peter, who wanted to see his script successfully translated to the screen, was rooting for them.

"As actors we have to put ourselves in that position all the time," Jennie says about the kiss. "Those kinds of love scenes or kissing scenes are always weird and uncomfortable, but you just have to go for it."

"Accidentally in Love" stars Jennie as Annie, a struggling waitress, widow and single mom, whose daughter Taylor (Dannika Northcott) is losing her eyesight as a result of a degenerative condition. When Annie and Eddie (Erickson) meet cute -- a car accident -- it turns out that he is the actor inside a bunny suit on Annie's favorite show, "Mulligan the Rabbit." Of course, he doesn't reveal that right away.

Annie works in a Western-themed restaurant, so the outfit she has to wear to work is not the most flattering, with its many-petticoat layers under a short skirt. So how could Peter do that to her?

"It was supposed to be a really cute little waitress outfit, which I was really excited about," Jennie tells ETonline. "An old-style waitress outfit. But then they changed the location. The producers and director found a location they wanted to use. Then they changed it into a Western thing and I was mortified. Sometimes we have to wear crazy clothes."

For his part, Peter says the first kernel of an idea for "Accidentally in Love" came to him one Easter when he dressed up in a bunny suit for his daughters -- Luca, Lola, and Fiona (pictured above with her dad) -- and was miserable.

"I hopped around the yard like crazy while the girls looked out the window of our house for eggs," he recalls. "And I was just in hell. It was hot. I was sweaty. It totally sucked. And I thought, 'I wonder what the guy who has to be in that Barney suit all day feels like?'"

So he sat down to write the story about a children's TV show actor, who has classic training and is just trying to get his big break, but in the meantime supports himself wearing the bunny suit and hating it.

Peter stuck the script in the drawer for a few years, but recently gave it to a director friend, David Burton Morris, who took it to the Hallmark Channel -- and the rest is history. It is the first thing that he has written that actually got produced.

But Peter, who in addition to playing Dr. Carlisle Cullen in 'The Twight Saga' stars as Dr. Fitch Cooper on Showtime's "Nurse Jackie," isn't giving up his day job any time soon to become a fulltime writer. The Facinelli family lives in California, so Peter is often separated from his wife and kids traveling to meet his acting commitments.

"Unfortunately, we are not able to make a rule, but we do our best not to have more than two weeks go by without seeing each other," Jennie says. "It gets harder the more time spent away. It is really hard for the girls. He comes back just as often as he can, sometimes every weekend."

Their desire to make their separations as infrequent as possible is part of what makes them work as a couple, but it is more than that. According to Jennie it is the work that they put into their marriage.

"When things aren't right, we try to make them better," she says. "You have to put in the work when you are married. We have a lot of laughs together and I think that is a good cure-all."

"Accidentally in Love" debuts on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.

Happy 19th Birthday Taylor!

From MTV.com:

A very happy birthday shout-out goes to Taylor Lautner, who, just one year into adulthood, is the highest-grossing member of "The Twilight Saga" trio and one of the hottest young adult stars in Hollywood. This coming year will undoubtedly be one of the biggest years of the 19-year-old's career as he finishes filming "Breaking Dawn" and embarks on his journey as a leading man after "The Twilight Saga" is finished.

In honor of his big day, we're taking a look at all the projects Lautner has on the horizon. If his current trajectory is anything to judge by, we have a feeling he will be even more popular and earning even more box-office gold at this time next year.

First up is "Abduction," which is being described as a thriller along the lines of the Jason Bourne films. He's done intense amounts of training for the film and it will be his first chance to show off his chops as an action star. It also helps that his co-star, Lily Collins, is another big up-and-comer (she'll star in the adaptation of "City of Bones") and that their combined star power should propel his first major starring role post-"Twilight Saga."

Rounding out 2011 is the much-anticipated release of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which will feature Lautner more than any other film in the series. If the film stays true to the book (and there's no guarantee that it will), about half of it will be shown from his character Jacob's perspective, and it will be up to him and his wolf pack to carry the film. He also ends up with certainly one of the most interesting love interests he's likely to have onscreen during the course of his career.

Aside from the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" in late 2012, Lautner has a couple of other big films on the horizon as well. He returns to the young adult genre in the upcoming adaptation of "Incarceron," and he's shaping up to land a pretty hot co-star for the film. Last we heard, Emma Watson, Blake Lively and Jennifer Lawrence are short-listed for his romantic lead.

And though it's been about a year since we heard major news on Lautner's other upcoming film "Stretch Armstrong," it's likely that he'll start filming it once he's done with "Breaking Dawn" in the next couple of months. It's slated for 2012 and will also likely be his first film in 3-D. It's a good thing, then, that he will "not wear a shirt" during the entire film.

Last but not least, Lautner has his third action film in the form of "Cancun." It's being described as "Taken" meets "Die Hard" and will be produced by Lautner's own production company, Tailor Made. Again, there hasn't been a lot of news on the film recently, but we're excited to see him show off his martial arts skills some more on the big screen.

Robert Admits Sports Aren't His Thing

From IrishCentral.com:

Not only has Robert Pattinson been awarded several accolades for his acting, the British star is also a talented music.

The 24-year-old likes to play the guitar in his spare time and has a great singing voice. He was featured on the first “Twilight” soundtrack and will showcase his vocal talent on the upcoming “Breaking Dawn” soundtrack.

Despite his artistic talents the star did admit after filming baseball scenes for the first “Twilight” film that he was no good at sports.

Speaking about shooting the baseball scenes he said: "It was very embarrassing. I'm terrible at baseball. I'm terrible at every sport apart from running. I'm terrible at that now, too!"

The “Twlight” star demonstrated just how clumsy he is when it comes to sports in his 2009 film “How to be”.

I don’t think NBA will be recruiting him just yet!

Robert to Sing in Breaking Dawn?

From Metro.co.uk:

Pattinson is being lined up to perform Renesmee’s Lullaby during a scene in the forthcoming movie, according to MTV.

The actor, 24, will reportedly sing and play the piano during his solo spot which will showcase his musical talents.

It won't be the first time cinema-goers have heard his dulcet tones - R-Pattz has already had two songs of his called Never Think and Let Me Sign featured on the Twilight soundtrack.

Last year, Pattinson played an impromptu gig in one lucky fan's living room as part of the Songs From A Room project.

He also admitted in the past that he wanted to be a rapper when he was 14.

'Music is my back-up plan if acting fails. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket,' he told Parade.com last year.

'I kind of want to do [an album] at the end of the year - all my friends are recording albums and I'm very annoyed about it, but I can't do two things at once.

'I don't know how people like Jennifer Lopez can act and also sing. I'm just like, 'I can't'. But, hopefully, I'll find some time to get it together.'

Breaking Dawn Bringing Millions to Baton Rouge Economy

From Examiner.com:

Ever since the announcement that part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 & 2 would be filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, there has been a general expectation that the area would see a financial upswing from production.

For instance, in August 2010 (note that the locations were confirmed in July) a local news station, WBRZ, heralded: “An economic boom is on the way to Baton Rouge because of the fascination with ‘Twilight.’”

How right they were . . . probably to the point of surpassing most peoples’ wildest expectations.

It’s hard to tell, though, since most anticipations surrounding Breaking Dawn’s production in Baton Rouge didn’t come in the form of an exact figure. This is about as specific as it got (from the LSU Reveille):

“The production's prolonged presence in Baton Rouge will be advantageous for local crew members who will have work for as long as the project is in the city . . . ‘Breaking Dawn’ will be an ‘enormous boost’ to Baton Rouge's economy through set building and production work, as well as the stimulus of cast and crew who stay in hotels and eat in local restaurants. ‘There is a constant multiplication on the dollars the production is spending in our community," she said. As the ‘Breaking Dawn’ production swoops into Baton Rouge, the city also has a chance to promote itself by offering local haunts for members of the production to sink their teeth into.”

Well, a local Louisiana news channel, WAFB, has released some numbers, and it seems that in 2010 alone, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’s production brought in around $65.5 million dollars to the city. It is expected that as production comes to a close this year, Breaking Dawn will have brought in another $33 million to Baton Rouge.

So that’d, in total, be about $100 million that the city and its businesses and workers earned from housing production on these two films for the span of a few months. If an “economic boom” is what Baton Rouge hoped for, wish granted.

Ashley & Joe Have Met the Parents

From EOnline.com:

Ashley Greene is opening up about her "traveling relationship" with Joe Jonas.

"We met through mutual friends in London, which is crazy because we both live in L.A," the 'Twilight' actress told Teen Vogue. "He's sweet and really funny, which is huge for me." It seems things are getting pretty serious for the couple with Ashley revealing, "...We've already met each others parents, which I think is a good result of the kind of lifestyle we live."

Ashley, 23, told the magazine what she enjoys doing most with Joe, 21, is cooking. "I've got this amazing kitchen, and he's getting me into it. It's really nice and almost therapeutic; we put on music and just kind of go into this zone."

As for how she deals with his rabid fans, the 'Twilight' star says that she's adjusted. "There's always going to be anti in this industry. ... I have dealt with anti before our relationship, and I will always have to deal with it. There will always be people who love me or hate me. That's why I try to focus on the positive."

Taylor Beats Twilight Co-Stars in Top Earners List

From Monstersandcritics.com:

Actor Taylor Lautner has beaten Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the 2010 Hollywood Top 40 Earners List.

The 18-year-old came in ninth place after raking in around £21 million for his film appearances in 2010, in the list compiled by Vanity Fair magazine.

Lautner beat Robert, 24, and Kristen, 20, who came in 13th and 14th places after making £16.9 and £17.5 million for their movie roles over the past year.

Vanity Fair's contributing editor Peter Newcomb said: 'He's perhaps the highest-paid teenage star right now. When they first negotiated their contracts, they were getting paid a lot less.

'Then, with the immense success of the film, the agents went back and renegotiated the deal, Lautner's deal in particular was bumped up.'

Avatar director James Cameron secured the top spot on the list, with yearly earnings of £158 million, while actor Johnny Depp, 47, took the number two spot.

Rob Causes Stir at Louisiana Deli

From People.com:

He's busy filming Breaking Dawn in Baton Rouge, La., but during a recent lunch outing at a local deli, Robert Pattinson ended up feeding his fans' appetites.

"A couple of girls who work in here are young … and they were absolutely star struck," a source at Maxwell's Market, where the actor dropped in for sandwiches, tells PEOPLE.

Pattinson is a repeat customer at the deli and, despite the attention he earned from the younger employees, the source says he's just like any other customer. "He's just a regular guy, and that's how we try to treat him," says the source.

During his most recent visit, Pattinson was accompanied by an unidentified male friend and "grabbed a couple of sandwiches and left," the source says.
