Yes, we've been away from a while, but it doesn't mean we stopped loving the Twilight series! Life just gets in the way sometimes. Soooo, what's the verdict? Is it a great ending to a great saga???

Q&A with Gil Brimingham & Tinsel Korey

I sat with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 stars Gil Brimingham and Tinsel Korey to talk about their experience making the films, music in film, and fandom.

Did you know about the Twilight stories before you were cast in the film?

Gil Brimingham: I wasn’t’ familiar with Twilight before being cast for it. I was told that there was a big fan base for the books. It wasn’t until I got cast and they made the announcement that my webmaster called saying, “What’s going on? Your website crashed. You had over 11,000 hits in two hours”. I said these people are really loyal. This could be something.

Tinsel Korey: I had no idea. I didn’t know anything about the franchise. My little sister wanted to know if I wanted to watch Twilight. I said what’s Twilight? {little kid voice} It’s like Harry Potter in love. When the audition came out I really wanted to get the role for her because she was a fan.

How has your life been different since the Twilight movies? Has it been crazy?

TK: I normally don’t get recognized because [Emily] has a big scar on the side of her face. The main thing is the travel. The crazy parts are the premiers or when people camp out. Those fan experiences is when it gets a little intense.

GB: Or when your friends become celebrities because they’re friends with us. I think that’s funny. Parents become very popular with their teenagers. For the most part we are pleasantly surprised when people ask for a picture, autograph, or say I love your work.

Was there a point where you realized fans were going to react that way?

GB: For me, there’s the cliché trappings of Hollywood. You don’t want your ego to get so invested in the fame part. Joe Pesci said, “You’re nobody until a lot of people tell you you’re somebody, but don’t believe them.” You just have to take it with a grain of salt. You have to know the reasons you are doing what you do is your creative expression, your art, and you’re just pleased people like it.

What was your experience on set for Breaking Dawn Part 1?

GB: It was like old family getting together. This is the fourth movie for me. Of course security is much more heightened. The expectation is probably about the same. I think it’s familiar ground and being able to share this with the only other people that understand what it really feels like.

TK: I don’t even think we [points to Gil] even had a scene together. My scene was on the beach. Originally Gil was supposed to be in that scene but they were like “How does he get his wheelchair down in the sand?” so that wasn’t going to work [laughs]. The traveling with everybody, and that last road trip- it was beautiful sendoff for my last film in the franchise.

Do you have a favorite scene in Breaking Dawn?

TK: It’s when they’re doing the toast at the wedding. I wasn’t expecting there to be humor in Breaking Dawn, but there’s a lot of it and you get to see that in the toast. Especially when Charlie is addressing Bella. That whole part of the movie was hilarious.

GB: Doing take after take at the beginning of the movie when Jacob takes his shirt off in the rain. He’s got the wedding invitation and is finding out that Bella’s going to go through with it. That was fun.

TK: But it made it on the trailer. Now you’re famous

GB: The wedding was pretty special. It was a little bit of the last hoorah. Having all the actors there in one of the biggest most anticipated scenes for a lot of the fans. It was good spending a week doing that and seeing how it turned out.

How many takes did you do?

GB: In the rain, 4 or 5. The funny thing was they had a rain tower so we produced our own rain. Every time I rolled out, I had to go back in and dry my hair so it didn’t look like I was coming out of my house wet. The minute we finished the scene the skies opened up and the real rain came. I just had to laugh.

The Twilight movies really touch its fan base. Why do you think that is?

GB: It’s all about the memories you have of love. Even for the older fans, it’s so easy for them to go back and remember their first love and the emotional turmoil they were going through. The movies heighten themselves just as the story is building up. When it came to Breaking Dawn, it was the culmination of this love affair.

TK: It was that turning point, especially for the Team Edwards, who have been waiting for that moment for Bella to choose Edward. For girls, who doesn’t love a wedding scene. Also for new life with Renesmee. I also thought there was a lot of action. For people who like vampires, in Breaking Dawn it gets a lot more gruesome and I think vampire fans enjoy that.

So both of you have a music background.

GB: Yes! We collaborated as of this morning [laughs]

TK: I was going to play a song that I released on iTunes, and I tuned my guitar funny. We started playing these riffs and somebody said, wouldn’t it be funny if you did a Breaking Dawn song. We just went with it. I have an improv background and we created this whole Breaking Dawn Buy it On DVD song.

There’s always a connection between music and film. Its always interested me.

TK: Look at New Moon. That scene when Bella’s depressed. In the book it’s just really dry and I was thinking how are they going to play that out. In the movie, just that song “Possibilities” going around just heightened the mood of that scene so much. The scene wouldn’t have been the same without that song being a part of that emotion.

Not only has the Twilight series been a different look at vampires, it’s been a different take on werewolves too. Especially the cultural aspect they put into the film.

GB: That was my favorite part. They tied it into them being heroes. It wasn’t a gratuitous thing to be this transforming monster. They didn’t make them as monsters, they made them protectors of the land. It was a great way to honor the culture in a supernatural kind of way.

TK: They’re kind of not really werewolves. I always struggle with that term for the wolfpack. They’re shape-shifters who turn into actual wolves. That’s a completely different take on that genre.

The Twilight movies aren’t your traditional movies. It’s a mix of vampires, werevoles, and a love story. Somehow it all works well together. People love it.

TK: The fans really feel a part of it. They’ve helped make this franchise what it is. Without the fans, this movie wouldn’t the phenomenon that it is so they’re invested. You see Justin Bieber fans really invested in him because they’ve been with him from the beginning all the way to the top. That’s what our fans have done for the films. They feel connected and a part of it as well.

I see that fandom when I go to comic-con,

GB: You feel part ownership

TK: Even the Twilight conventions that we do. We’re just the bonus. They’re happy to make friends with someone else who connects with something. The amount of people that have come together and built friendships because of these movies is incredible.

Have you met any crazy fans?

TK: Not crazy. I battle with this term. I think they’re just passionate. They just love the films.

GB: In a time where it’s hard for people to just have hope. It’s worth investing so much of yourself into it. This thing is safe for them and it seems real. It’s the emotional element. The dynamics between the love story is real. These emotions are experienced by almost everybody.

Would you do another Twilight film?

GB: Definitely. I think it lends itself to so many other side stories. There addressed in the book, but there are so many different directions it could go. Everybody is really focused on the love triangle.

What would be interesting is your characters back story,

GB: He has a back story alright. He’s the lineage. The history of where he came from and why is it that he never transformed. The truce that was made with his ancestry and how this peaceful existence was even possible until Bella came into town. The humans messed it up [laughs].

TK: I would love to see the story before Emily has the scar. Meeting Sam, Sam still being in a relationship with Leah, them imprinting, and what that felt like. I thought that was such a great story but we didn’t have a chance to tell it.

Walmart Breaking Dawn Part 1 Midnight Release Parties on Feb 10th

From HomeMediaMagazine.com: Walmart Jan. 30 said it would release The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 with exclusive features on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in a special midnight opening Feb. 10 at more than 2,700 stores nationwide.

Twilight Saga "May" Continue After Breaking Dawn, Says Studio Boss

It is a quandary faced by studio executives over the years: what to do with a successful movie franchise that has run out of books to adapt. But this may not be an obstacle for the Twilight films, after Lionsgate chief executive Jon Feltheimer suggested his company may continue the series beyond the November release of Breaking Dawn Part 2, supposedly the final instalment in the vampire romance saga.

Lionsgate bought Twilight studio Summit for more than $400m on Friday, and one of Feltheimer's first proclamations was to suggest his company wants to maximise profits from its newly acquired asset. The Twilght series has so far generated almost $2.5bn at the global box office.

"I'm anticipating Breaking Dawn Part 2 being $700m-plus in worldwide box office," Feltheimer told the LA Times. Asked if he would like to see the series continue, he said: "It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700m-plus doesn't have ongoing value. It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is: 'Boy I hope so.'"

While the prospect of more Twilight films may delight fans, it will come as a surprise to author Stephenie Meyer, who wrote the books on which the movies are based. She has published four novels in the series, along with spin-off title The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, and has no plans to continue it. The latter novella does not appear an obvious candidate for a big-screen transfer, as it is not told from the perspective of any of the main characters in the Twilight series. However, another source told the LA Times that Lionsgate may take advantage of the studio's in-house television unit to transfer Twilight to the small screen.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 is directed by Bill Condon and continues the story of Bella Swan, who at the end of the last film was transformed into a vampire by her bloodsucking new husband, Edward Cullen. It will be released in the US and UK on 16 November.

He's been keeping a low profile these days, but Taylor Lautner was caught by the paparazzi while out in West Hollywood on Thursday (January 12).

Looking hunky in a navy short sleeve top with grey trousers and aviator shades, the Jacob Black stud offered up a smile as he made his way inside the Pacific Design Center during the midday outing.

The sighting comes as Taylor is easing back into public view just prior to next week's DVD release of his movie "Abduction" - which will be available to bring home on January 17th.

Ashley Experiences Wardrobe Malfunction at People's Choice Awards

Ashley Greene of Twilight fame experienced a bit of a wardrobe malfunction Wednesday evening at the People's Choice Awards in L.A. Did her Spanx show? Did she suffer the dreaded nip-slip?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, no and no. As wardrobe malfunctions go it was a rather benign one, but likely proved embarrassing to Greene just the same.

Ashley was decked out in a stylish black leather dress with lace sleeves. When the stage lights hit the dress just right, however, all fans could concentrate on was her underwear. Fortunately, unless Ashley was seeing herself in a monitor at the time, she wasn't even remotely aware of her wardrobe malfunction until after the People's Choice Awards had ended.

Do you recall seeing any additional wardrobe malfunctions during the People's Choice Awards? Hopefully Ashley Greene's was the worst of the evening, which would mean that all in all it wasn't a horrible evening where malfunctions were concerned. It's too bad that Ashley's stylist didn't do a wardrobe check under suitable lighting before the awards show was underway. Hers was one of those rare wardrobe malfunctions that probably could have been rectified before it turned embarrassing.

Despite the malfunction, Ashley Greene looked lovely at the People's Choice Awards, and hopefully isn't feeling too awfully embarrassed as her dress and undies are the topics of a few conversations a day later. She should simply breathe a sigh of relief that she didn't suffer the dreaded nip-slip, and perhaps consider hiring a different stylist!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Has Us Pumped For Fresh Blood!

Looking ahead to November, when we finally get to see the end of the "Twilight" franchise in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," there are many things to get excited about. For starters, Bella is now a vampire, Renesmee is growing up and the Volturi are back.

But what I am most looking forward to are all the fresh vampires. There are so many new characters, not to mention the fun involved in the adventurous search for allies, getting the group together, bonding over things like eating habits and fighting against the Volturi.

Therefore, in the spirit of MTV Movies' Ones to Watch in 2012, this "Twilight" Tuesday is dedicated to the ones to watch in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" — which if you didn't already know, is also a big part of our MTV Movie Brawl 2012.

Before I get to my favorite new additions, "Twilight" vampire expert and star Peter Facinelli had these kind words to say about a few of his new castmates when MTV News caught up with him: "There's Maggie Grace; she's fantastic. Christian Camargo is fantastic and Juilliard-trained. I always wish I went to Juilliard, so when I meet people from Juilliard, I'm always jealous," he said. "Mia Maestro — there's so many talented people that were tapped. It's a much larger cast."

Clearly, Facinelli has a thing for the Denali coven, which we got a glimpse of in "Part 1" during Bella and Edward's wedding. The Denali clan is another group of vegetarian vamps consisting of Irina (Grace), former Volturi Eleazar (Camargo) and his multilingual mate Carmen (Maestro).

The Denalis are, indeed, a nice bunch. My personal favorite new vampire, however, is Garrett, the American nomad played by charming and adorable actor Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies," "The Fall"). I remember liking him from the moment Stephenie Meyer introduced him, due to the 6-foot-2 factor, his curiosity and his adventurous nature. His character has a nice arc, which I'll avoid spoiling fully here, and Pace is the absolute perfect actor to play him.

Fellow fan and creator of the Kristen Stewart Hot Bodyguard Facebook page Sarah M. also brought up JD Pardo, who plays the other vamp/human hybrid Nahuel. "He was super nice at the BD1 premiere & ain't too hard on the eyes either!" she tweeted.

Breaking Dawn Birth Scene 'Emotional' for Stephenie Meyer

Of all the lovely and talented stars we feature in our exhaustive efforts to cover anything and everything in the world of "Twilight," it's a rare treat to talk to the woman responsible for it all: author-turned-producer Stephenie Meyer.

MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with the lady, the myth, the legend during our "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" premiere live stream Monday night (November 14), when we covered hot topics such as the wedding and honeymoon, the birth scene and whether Meyer will ever write another "Twilight"-themed story or book.

"With the wedding, I worked pretty closely with [screenwriter] Melissa [Rosenberg]," Meyer said. "We talked about it, how it needed to be like a really beautiful traditional ceremony, nothing outlandish, just simple and old-fashioned and romantic, and then [director] Bill [Condon] brought in the vision of what it should look like, and the production designer just made such a gorgeous midsummer night's dream for us. And then the final element was Kristen [Stewart] in the wedding dress. She was so gorgeous, she was unbelievable."

Fun fact about the wedding scene: Meyer has a cameo, which she assured us was not her idea.

"Bill really wanted those of us who'd been there from the beginning [in the scene]," she said. "It was nice to be at Bella's wedding; that was great. Being on camera — not so much."

Moving right along to arguably the film's most-anticipated scene: the honeymoon, which Meyer said she wanted all along to be romantic above everything else.

"I think it's romantic, and it does give you more than the book does. I know some of the sites call it, instead of 'fade to black,' 'fade to sad.' they'd love to see more. I think this gives them that," she said. "It gives them a romantic peek into the honeymoon. We don't want to see too much."

Another scene in which the filmmakers incorporated a less-is-more approach was during the very intense birth scene, which Meyer said was so emotional that people shed a bunch of tears during filming.

"It was so emotional. It wasn't like a horror movie or anything. It has those elements, but it really brought out that feeling of losing the person that means the most to you. We were getting teary on set, which doesn't happen very much after a long day of shooting," she said. "That moment really was strong."

And finally, the question on all "Twilight" fans' minds all the time: After the final movie opens and things are all said and done, will Meyer return to her characters and continue the story?

"I don't know," she said. "Every now and then I tinker around with old manuscripts, because I can't leave them alone even though it's too late and they're printed. There are little things. I've been recently doing comedies and stuff; it's a nice change. Maybe it will cleanse the palate and I'll get back to it."

So once the palate is cleansed, might she consider publishing the much-discussed, fan-pined-for book from Edward's perspective, "Midnight Sun"? "Maybe. I get that [question] a lot," Meyer said. "My mother [asks] every day. She would love for me to do that. I know a lot of people will love that. I have to get to a place where I can write it."

Robert & Kristen: 'The Improper' Movie Entertainers of the Year

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will not win an Oscar for their roles in the “Twilight” series and are far from the most polished actors in Hollywood. But in terms of pure entertainment, they are all consuming.

No two people have dominated pop culture quite like KStew and RPatz. Critics may consider the “Twilight” series mediocre as films go. But they have captured the imagination of legions of fans around the world.

The “Twilight” saga has held the rapt attention of a new generation of filmgoers for more than four years, and will have generated well over $1 billion at the box office, when all is said and done. Over that time, Rob and Kristen have become an industry unto themselves, generating countless magazine stories and an explosion in fan Web sites. Wherever they go and whatever they do, they generate major buzz.

So what makes Pattinson and Stewart so special? Mostly their on-screen chemistry. When they come together in a Twilight film, a nuclear reaction takes place. They generate so much heat and light, the strength of their chemistry alone makes the film’s overriding themes of passion, devotion and eternal love ring true.

Off-screen they have been an entertainment juggernaut all their own. Their mysterious, closely guarded relationship has launched a thousand headlines and driven fans to frenzy. Yet we still don’t really know for sure: Are they a couple?

There are enough clues to suggest they are. But their determination to keep their relationship private in the face of relentless fan and media attention is the biggest sign of all of their respect and devotion to each other.

When it comes to their fans, they both have shown incredible kindness and patience. Seen from their perspective, fans can be intrusive, demanding and ultimately, maddening. Yet, Rob and Kristen always seem to give beyond what’s expected, whether it’s signing autographs on the red carpet or posing for fan photos on the street.

Even more remarkable, they have maintained a sense of perspective about their good fortune and shown a dedication to their craft, rather than to their celebrity.

“I got lucky with this,” Kristen said recently of “Twilight.”

“I got lucky with Snow White [and the Huntsman]. It also happens to be a big movie, but I would have done it if nobody knew about it. I would have done it with my friends, basically.”

And so it was with the first “Twilight” film. It was never meant to be anything more than a mid-grade, indie movie, It was filmed by a then struggling studio on a $37 million budget, paltry by Hollywood standards.

But it proved one Hollywood truism; never sell a love story short. Not since the 1970 film “Love Story,” with Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw, has a movie reached so deeply into the psyche of tweens, teens and 20-somethings.

“Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer infused her books with eternal themes. The films, in many ways, have ushered fans from adolescence into adulthood, right along with Bella, Edward, Jacob and the rest of the cast.

When the last Twilight film “Breaking Dawn, Part II,” hits theaters next year, it will mark the end of era for so many who have grown up with the films. They’ll hopefully come away moved by some of its life lessons; the meaning of love and devotion, the importance of family and the need to respect others, no matter how different.

And, most importantly, that, yes, it can happen to you.

It’s hard to say what will happen to Rob, Kristen, their lives and careers, once Twilight has run its course. But it’s pretty safe to say whatever path they choose, it will be on their own terms.

The ever self-effacing Rob probably said it best: “If I can get one percent of the ‘Twilight’ fans to follow my for the next 20 years, then I’ll probably have a career.”

Breaking Dawn Reveals Make Best Twilight Year Yet!

We knew 2011 was going to be a big year in the world of "Twilight" news. The fanbase seemed to keep growing by the hour, as did the excitement surrounding the release of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1." The release of a new "Twilight" film also meant that we'd be seeing a lot of the blockbuster franchise's superstars as they promoted the film — and, boy, was MTV News lucky with how much time we ended up spending with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the gang this year. As such, this week's "Twilight Tuesday" is dedicated to the best and brightest of those interviews with our favorite stars.

Our first encounter with a "Twilight" star was our chat with Pattinson at the Golden Globes, during which he provided us with a giggly reaction to the first "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" still of Bella and Edward in bed, as well as his positive reviews of Stewart playing a vampire. "It's like she wanted to do it the entire time," he told us. "It's really funny, it's like a completely different environment on set when she's a vampire and when she's not. I think she's going to do it really well."

There were also plenty of teases about the film's most highly anticipated scenes, including the wedding of Edward and Bella and the honeymoon sex scene. Of seeing Stewart in a wedding dress during the filming of their characters' nuptials, Pattinson said, "She looked amazing. I really didn't do much than just stand there."

Stewart later said of the experience: "It was very, very emotional for me."

Pattinson added, "You kind of realize what the groom's position in a wedding is, which, in reality, is basically a prop. You stand there in a suit, and then everyone is looking at the girl."

One scene in which everyone was most certainly not just looking at the girl is the first sex scene between Edward and Bella on their wedding night. "I think we had some really interesting ideas about [the love scene]," Pattinson said when we caught up with him at the "Water for Elephants" press junket. "It's kind of interesting, as well, having to do it in the context of PG-13. It makes it more interesting."

Speaking to all the hype about the big moment, Pattinson said that although there was a lot of pressure to deliver some major fireworks in the scene, he was confident he'd give a convincing performance. "That's the one time I have felt like the coolest person," Pattinson admitted with a laugh. "I was like, 'This is easy!' I can fulfill people's sexual fantasy expectations without even thinking, piece of cake. That isn't acting," he joked. "The only thing [that was difficult] is the vanity aspect," Pattinson continued. "Taylor [Lautner] just ruined the whole series for me. As soon as he buffed up, I'm like, 'Well, I'm throwing in the towel' on 'New Moon.' "

Speaking of Lautner and his chiseled abs, the heartthrob told us that he had to actively campaign to director Bill Condon and the powers that be to limit his amount of shirtlessness in the film, much to the disappointment of his devoted fan following.

"I got it down to one time, one time in the movie, and it literally lasts for two seconds," Lautner said proudly of his single shirtless shot. "There was some negotiating for sure. There was more [shirtless scenes] when I read the original script, trust me," he said. "And I got it down to a very, very small amount, which I was so happy with."

Other interview highlights included the unexpected, off-the-cuff, informal moments wherein our favorite stars played ball with a few of our more-outlandish requests and questions. Case in point: When we asked Jackson Rathbone to help read off a few of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees in song, which he did in good spirits and with aplomb. Then there was the "Breaking Dawn" version of the always-entertaining "Yes/No Show" with Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner.

And those are just a small collection of our favorites from 2011 alone. Only time will tell what 2012 will bring as we gear up for the "epic" conclusion to the franchise, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2." It goes without saying that we can't wait.

Taylor Lautner People Magazine Cover is FAKE!

Apparently a manip (manipulated photo) that had its origins on Tumblr somehow got picked up by a variety of news services as legit. It is in fact A FAKE. The photo itself is real enough having been part of the New Moon PR campaign, but the text is entirely bogus. Gossip Cop has full details.

Breaking Dawn Took Home EW's Best Wedding of 2011 Award

Twilight Breaking Dawn took home Best Wedding Of 2011 Prize. Apparently Entertainment Weekly,recently threw a little contest for Best Wedding of 2011,and despite not even being a real life wedding, Breaking Dawn part 1 took the trophy anyways.

Now,that’s pretty major. You know you’ve got it going on when the “make believe” stuff starts taking out the real stuff. It beat out Kate and Prince William’s Royal Wedding,and a couple of other popular weddings.

EW’s resident wedding planner David Tutera gave the Bdawn wedding an A- grade,and said, he “thought it was stunning. I know it’s a movie, it’s not real, but if you’re going to spend money on a wedding, there’s one to copy.”

He also commented on William and Kate’s royal wedding,stating, “I would give that a B+. I thought it was wonderful. I thought fashion was an A, but overall I thought B+. I was hoping they wouldn’t be as safe as they were, but I understand why they were.”

It’s no surprise that he gave the Kim Kardashian wedding a big,fat F grade,and said, “I’m appalled and disgusted about everything that they did. I don’t care how beautiful it was, I think it was unfortunately a very well calculated business agreement.”

Breaking Dawn Part 1 - MTV's #2 Newsmaker of 2011

One doesn't need Alice Cullen's powers of prognostication to foretell fang-tastic returns for "The Twilight Saga."

Four years in, and the success of the franchise is a foregone conclusion. To wit, the penultimate film in the series, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," has grossed more than $600 million worldwide since its November release and even set a new record by becoming the first installment to top the box office three weekends in a row. And it also landed at #2 on MTV News' Top Newsmakers of 2011 list, falling short only to Lady Gaga.

Hollywood's Best Actors For The Buck

The Twilight movies are more than a cultural sensation, they're a financial phenomenon. The latest, Breaking Dawn, has ranked No. 1 at the U.S. box office for the past three weekends and has already earned $588 million worldwide. The entire franchise has brought in $2.4 billion so far and there's still one more movie set for release next year.

It's been a lot of reward for relatively little outlay. The first two movies were produced for $37 million and $50 million, respectively. The current film is the most expensive to date with an estimated budget of $110 million. Part of the reason the budget has risen is that stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are getting paid more for playing Bella and her vampire boyfriend Edward, but they're still not getting the $20 million paychecks that some big stars can command.

How does Stewart beat Pattinson when they earn virtually identical salaries on their Twilight films? For the purpose of this list we look at each star's last three major releases in the last five years, and Pattinson has been busier than Stewart. He starred in two non-Twilight projects in the past two years: Remember Me and Water for Elephants. Neither film performed particularly well and that pulled down the average return on investment for Pattinson.

To create our list we looked at the 40 highest-earning actors in Hollywood. To qualify, each had to have starred in at least three movies in the past five years that opened in more than 500 theaters. Movies that opened after May 1 were not counted. We also didn't look at animated films because the stars aren't really the draw.

We used data gathered for our annual Celebrity 100 list to calculate each star's estimated earnings on each film (including up-front pay and any earnings from the movie's box-office receipts and first-year sales of DVDs). We then looked at each movie's estimated budget (not including marketing costs, which are susceptible to accounting chicanery) and box-office and DVD earnings to figure out an operating income for each film.

We added up each star's compensation on his or her last three films and the operating income on those films, and divided the total operating income by the star's total compensation to come up with a return-on-investment number. The final number represents an average of how much a studio earns for every dollar paid.

Sandwiched between the Twilight stars, Anne Hathaway ranks second on our list with an average return of $45.67 for every $1 she's paid. Most of that comes from Alice in Wonderland, which was a massive hit, earning $1 billion on a budget of $200 million. Bride Wars also did well enough on a relatively low budget to help keep her average numbers up.

Ranking fourth is another actor who has benefited from a massively successful franchise: Daniel Radcliffe. The young star earned a hefty salary for the last few Harry Potter movies but the films are such massive moneymakers (the franchise has pulled in $7.7 billion in global ticket sales) that his paycheck is relatively insignificant. For every $1 Radcliffe was paid his films earned $34.24.
