One of the most sought-after roles in Hollywood -- Bella and Edward's half-human/half-vampire child Renesmee Cullen -- will be played by nine-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy in the two-part conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn. The news comes one day after the underwhelming announcement that Maggie Grace (Lost) will play troublemaking vampire Irina.
Foy's credits to date include single episodes of FlashForward and 'Til Death, according to imdb.com. However, she's been a growing number of Twilight fans' favorite to play Renesmee for some time, with at least one online petition asking for her to be given the role.
According to EW.com, Foy is "inches away" from being announced as Renesmee, who rapidly ages from a newborn to a 17-year-old during the events of Breaking Dawn. Past reports have theorized that that aging process will be achieved via similar effects as those employed in David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

shes perfect! but why dont i recall her reaching age 17? i could have sworn she gets to be the same age as the guy alice brings back from the jungle... and he was like 13 no? maybe i should go back and read it again.

And I don't remember her getting to 17 years old either ~ and I read Breaking Dawn four times...I thought she got to like 6 or 7. Guess I'll have to go back and look into that.

So what happened to the chocolate brown eyes and curls? Or are they going to make this child wear contacts too? Come on, aren't there enough brown-eyed people in this world??? She is cute and she does look like Robert Pattinson a little, but this is not how she is described in the book (and I am not even talking about the age issue). Disappointed.
The half human/ half vamp boy that Alice brought back ( not remembering his name , sorry ) stopped aging at around 17 years...that's why they say she'll stop aging when she reaches that age. She never made it to that age in the book...obviously it ended before that.
She didn't get to the age of 17 in the book....they made a mistake obviously !!
shes perfect!!! she'll have to get brown contacts and make her hair curly but other than that she does look soo cute! what im wondering is who are they gonna get to be the baby rennesmee?? because she isnt just born looking 6 or 7...and this girl is 9 so theyre gonna need someone else to be rennesmee for a lot of the movie... but yeah she looks great. and she wont have to look 17 at all in the movie...maybe they just mean thats literally what happens in her life. but not in the book.
She wasn't 17 in the book, there making her go to 17 in the movie. I think so Jacob can have his happy ending.
I'm still not sure she'd be the best choice... I mean she has to play a newborn baby at the begginig. And Renesmee for sure does not age into a 17 year old girl. The time span in Breaking Dawn from when Bella gives birth to Renesmee and the end of the book is several months. She looks and acts about a 3 year old toddler, though she is only a few months old. That's all.
seriosly??? there is NO way that steph said that in breaking dawn!!! unless the movie people are being REALLY lame and switching everything up for Jacob... she's cute, but they should NOT do that.
The book is broken down into two movies. So maybe this girl is used for the first part when she is younger. Maybe they'll use someone older for the second one is they are planning on her being 17.
well the way i read the book, renessmee will age until about 25, not 17..... I always reread the novel before see the show so... yeah I'ma start rereading again soon, "Harry Potter's amazing" but yeah i thought she was eventually to reach age 25..... I think its awesome to see a older renessmee, it's like a *nineteen years later* all over again, ........ I shall start calling Jacob... Teddy...... O,o bwhaha
