Rob Lines Up Role in "Cosmopolis"

From HollywoodLife.com:

Proving yet again he is the hardest working guy in Hollywood, Robert Pattinson has just signed on to star in David Cronenberg’s next film Cosmopolis after he completes Breaking Dawn. Our sister site Deadline reports Rob will be playing the lead role of Eric Packer, “a financial wunderkind who risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day. His deed puts him in the crosshairs for assassination. The drama is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis.” Twilight this is not!

Rob is currently in Baton Rogue filming the final two installments of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. His film Water for Elephants will be released later this year, in which he stars alongside Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz. Also slated for this year, his lead role in Bel Ami with Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci.

Cosmopolis is based on the novel of the same name by acclaimed American author Don DeLillo. Canadian auteur Cronenberg meanwhile is most famous for films such as A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, as well as his ability to attract the industry’s top talent for his flicks.

Marion Cotillard and Colin Farrell had been attached to the film at an earlier stage.
