New Moon - New Details

**After reading this article, I'm personally a little concerned about New Moon. Frankly, I'm happy Catherine Hardwicke is out, but I have a funny feeling that Summit is going to hurry this along and mess it up. $50 million only???? What's up with that?

Here's a bit from EW's article about New Moon:

"Summit Entertainment has tentatively slated Nov. 20, 2009, as the release date for New Moon, the Twilight sequel, which means any director who signs on to replace Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has to be in Vancouver by Dec. 15 to begin 12 weeks of preproduction before a mid-March start date. Reports have speculated that Hardwicke was fired for being difficult on set, but sources close to her suggest Summit's aggressive production schedule turned her off. "She'd love to do the sequel if she could do it better than Twilight,” says one. “It became clear that Summit didn’t have those same priorities."

Another of Hardwicke’s primary concerns was that hunky vampire Edward remains MIA throughout New Moon’s middle portion. In her own opening-weekend interview, she told EW, “You have to get the chemistry as strong between Jacob and Bella as it was between Bella and Edward. You also have to do something with that arc: She’s in love with somebody, he disappears, she falls in love with someone else, and the first guy comes back. Movies like Pearl Harbor have tried it. It absolutely didn’t work.”

**Oh, and one more thing ~ Bella was NOT in love with Jacob!!! He comforted her when she needed it, he was her best friend, she loved him as a friend, but she was NOT in love with him. Edward was only gone about six months. True love doesn't die that soon!!!!! AND Bella & Jacob were only friends for about two months of that time. Jacob messed with Bella's emotions and tried to manipulate her ~ that is NOT true love, that's selfishness ....Summit better not mess this movie up!!! Okay....I'm off my soapbox now :-)**

This is just my opinion. I guess it came off a little harsh, didn't mean for it to. I know others see it differently. I'm just a little concerned about Summit messing it up for us ~ but hopefully we'll all be pleasantly surprised :-)

Remember that in Eclipse Bella even says that she is in love with Jacob. It was definitely a different feeling than she had for Edward but my opinion, no one hurt me, is that Jacob was who Bella was suppose to end up as a human, but since she feel into the supernatural she lost Jacob and gained Edward. Hence why Jacob doesn't find his true mate till Renesmee.

i agree with both cindy and laura. bella was in love with jacob, but differently that the "in love" feeling she had with edward. that was an out of this world love. but i agree with cindy when she says jacob was selfish. i am not a fan of mr. jacob. edward all the way baby!

I do NOT agree--she did love Jacob--in love. But he was the safe guy, and no girl chooses the guy who would be good for her. She had committed to Edward & since he had left her to 'save' her, she couldn't really turn her back on him--she was already committed. If she ditched him, it would be like telling him everything she had said previously was wrong & Bella was too stupid to do what was right for HER.

Oh, cool, now we're getting into the nitty-gritty.

It's amazing how we all see things so differently, but that's the beauty of it.

I still hold firm on my belief, but I can see your points. I have never been a fan of any type of manipulating, so I guess that's why Jacob just rubs me wrong. But then again, he is a teenager.

Jacob thought he was in love with Bella, but in BD he even says to her that they were connected only because of Renesmee.

In the real world, would Jacob have been Bella's true love, I don't think so. In the book, Bella really never gave Jacob the time of day. She only did in New Moon because she needed his help, which she wouldn't have needed if they lived "in the real world."

Keep it coming, this is good! I love to hear other's opinions.

I agree with Cindy... I think she only said that she was in love with Jacob as well as Edward because everyone kept pounding that idea into her head. You can only take so much of an idea until you believe it! They were only connected because of Renesmee, and a close friendship. I liked Catherine Hardwicke's idea of showing shots of Edward suffering away from Bella. I'm a little worried about the sequel as well, especially if they recast Jacob. Summit is really ticking me off... like someone said on the site that you got this article from, Summit only cares about lining their pockets. We just have to trust Stephenie to take the lead and make sure they keep her vision...

Jacob and Bella were supposed to be human true lovers...But it's like Edward and Bella imprinted on eachother, it's stronger than true love....

Whilst I'm as excited about the next film as anyone, I'm disappointed at it being so rushed, and such a small budget...

...as the action over the four books takes place over about 2 years in real time, and the vampires of course don't age, I think the best solution would have been to film all four movies at once, LOTR style. Oh well!

Jacob WAS in love with Bella. Bella WAS suffering (for a while maybe she felt alone and confuse) all the time for her lost love!!! Jacob HAD crush, NOT Bella. They did have a connection, but I quess this is something that we all understood in BD, I mean with Reneesme. New Moon with NO Edward will be doomed. Jacob thing.. will not save the day, not mentioned New Moon. What they dont get is...its ALL about Edward and Bella...people come to senses!!!!!
