Stephenie Meyer Blasted by Stephen King

Stephen King apparently doesn't like Stephenie's writing. Boo-hoo! I'm sure this announcement is going to change so many Twilighters' opinions ~ yeah, right. Click here if you want to view the entire article.

Here's a tidbit from MTV.com, where apparently Mr. King is putting down "Twilighters": "Attempting to explain the enormous success of Meyer's novels, King speculated that Twilighters simply aren't yet ready for a depiction of real, adult romance: "It's exciting and it's thrilling and it's not particularly threatening, because they're not overtly sexual. A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that's a shorthand for all the feelings that they're not ready to deal with yet."

Teenage girls are not the only people reading (and loving) these books. Stephenie Meyer has given us clean, entertaining books and its' about time someone did. Apparently the world craves this type of entertainment! Just check out how many Twilight & Harry Potter fansites there are! People love these books whether Mr. King does or not. We do respect his opinion because we're all entitled to our own; however, that's all it is, an opinion.

I just can't help but laugh at what Stephen King said. What he says is kind of true, for some people i guess.

What's with the head a some guy next the the cursor on this site... It's kinda creepy. And so is the air over obsessiveness...

It's not "some guy", it's Edward (Robert Pattinson)...sorry you think he's creepy! Maybe we'll do a poll to see if we need to take him off or not.

As far as the obsessiveness goes, this is a Twilight blog, that's what it's all about. We're here to give the people as much information about Twilight as possible.

Are we, as individuals, a bit obsessive about Twilight, of course we are, but that's what makes it so much fun! It's good clean entertainment that makes us happy. And what's wrong with being happy? We hope you join us!

No thanks, i'll decline, i was obsessed before, but i've gotten over it. And don't you think Edward is creepy at all? I mean, he stalks girls and watches people sleep. In what world is that even slightly attractive?

regarding King's comments, he is undeniably one of the most successful authors of our time. So, looking at things from his perspective, and speaking as someone who literally grew up reading King's novels from a young age, I can see his point on some things he said. That being said, keep in mind that his comments don't really change how we as fans feel about the Twilight series, so don't sweat it! Just let it roll off your backs. I am proof that you can love both Stephen King and Stephenie Meyer and still be *reasonably* sane!! LOL!!

@ annonymous :sure u can call edward a stalker..but thrs a diff- he doesn stalk girls, only his love interest, mostly bcos he's protective of her and the part tht he watches her sleep to me is kinda sweet..bt in real world it wud proly seem creepy but thats the whole point of writing a novel or directing a movie, nothing is real!
