Twilight Scores Big at the MTV Movie Awards

LOS ANGELES — The MTV Movie Awards were a bloodbath Sunday night with “Twilight” taking five trophies, including best movie........

.....“Twilight,” the popular vampire drama starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, sucked up the golden popcorn trophies for best movie, best fight, best kiss, breakthrough male performance and female performance during the over-the-top ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.

“The fans are the ultimate driving force,” Stewart said while accepting her best female performance trophy which she promptly dropped on the floor, breaking off a chunk of the golden popcorn.

Patty said...: I'm glad that Twilight did so well but am very disappointed in MTV! The show was crude, sleezy and down right obscene!! There were obviously a lot of "tweens" and teenagers who tuned in to see the results for Twilight. I am going to complain to MTV and hope that everyone out there that feels the same way will also. I usually have MTV blocked on my T.V. and this just confirmed to me why. Disgusting!!!; June 1, 2009 at 6:57 PM

Kira said...: I didn't get to actually see the show, but I was watching the "acceptance speeches" on a different website, so I can't comment on the whole MTV thing. But I thought that the "almost-kiss" was so cute! I can't believe how Robert got so into the acting there - he wasn't even smiling! I don't know how he does it... but then again, he is Robert Pattinson! And Kristen dropping her award was also somewhat sweet - very much like her character as Bella :); June 2, 2009 at 8:21 AM
