Random, yes I know.

*SPOILER ALERT* For those of you who have not yet read Breaking Dawn, discontinue reading immediately (or your computer screen may burst into flames).
What did you think of the battle in Breaking Dawn? I mean we all heard of Stephenie's reason for ending the book the way she did- "I’m not the kind of person who writes a Hamlet ending. If the fight had happened, it would have ended with 90% of the combatants, Cullen and Volturi alike, destroyed. There was simply no other outcome once the fight got started, given the abilities and numbers of the opposing sides. Because I would never finish Bella’s story on such a downer—Everybody dies!—I knew that the real battle would be mental.".
Was anyone out there disappointed that there wasn't a fight?

Absolutely not!
I REALLY don'r like fights. So i personally LOVED the ending!

And i wouldn't have anyone of them killed either..

I think she possibly left it out in the open for a (possible) future spin off series that would involve Nessie, Jacob and the other half-human dude from the Amazon as the main characters. I felt like she left many parts of the story untied. Fingers crossed, I'm hoping she has something up her sleeve. I'm just dying to see the next three movies!

i know a lot of people didn't like the ending, but i was fine with it. i hate unhappy endings! i would've liked maybe a little more action thought, but i won't complain. we love you stephenie!

The ending couldn't have been better, what romantic would want a fight??? I would have died if one of the Cullens got hurt/killed!
I thought that was going to happen, that one or more of them died (probably Edward protecting Bella, him being him) because of what I heard of fans burning the book as a protest, etc, so I was really strugling to get to the end, couldn't bear it, I was even reading slower as I was enjoying the beginning so much and dreading the end, but when I got to the happy end, I wanted to jump up and down Alice style!!!
I agree with Daniella, this end is not really and end and she could do so much with it... please Stephenie, give us more happy books to the Saga.

I liked the book just as she wrote it! And like others are saying it was a definitive end so maybe she can continue on with the series. We would all love that!

Seriously I don't know what I would have done if there had been a fight!
Like Stephenie said, so many would have died, I would have been devastated.
Definitely best off without the fight!! :)

I thought a mental "fight" was much more appropriate. Afterall, many of them have those extra talents. It would have been wasteful to just let Felix and Demetri rip them apart instead.

On the other note, I am not sure if I want a sequel at this point. What I do want is to read the same plot from Edward's perspectives - like what was Edward going through during that first kiss? (I can't wait for the rest of "Midnight Sun"!) or what was going through his mind when Jacob was keeping Bella warm in "Fire and Ice" chapter? or what he was thinking during that horrible baby delivery?

I love the ending, but I think that if she writes other book the Vulturis should be defeated, and all the Cullens, warewolves and their friends should participate in the fight, of course some of them would be hurt, but not so many important deads...
I hope Stephenie writes another book!!

I did a renesmee trailer on youtube, with the idea that the series could spinoff into something more mature and intense. I think the series could definately explore a much more action packed and darker world :)

Btw check out my latest vid for "Eclipse"

I would have been really sad if any of the Cullens had died. I was fine with how the "battle" ended. The only thing I would have liked to see change with the Romanian coven overtake the Volturi.

I was glad no one died but I did feel a bit dissatisfied at the end...not sure why.

I think she took a little bit of an easy way out....maybe she just couldn't bring herself to kill anyone off, but I thought it was way too much build up and hype about all the 'new powers' and new vampires to do absolutely nothing with it.....I thought it was pretty pointless to include all that and a little dis-jointed considering the ending. Not mad though, it is her book and she can write it however she wants

I think... that if there would have been a fight, neither of the cullens or friends would have died like SM said... I mean the FORTE of the Volturi are the mental attacks, and Bella was already blocking them all!... Not to mention, that in the cullens side there were vampires with very strong talents... Zafrina for example, she could have paralized the whole Volturi´s guard without any pronblem (the volturi didn´t have someone like Bella by their side)!! Aditionaly the Volturi were outnumbered!! I mean the Volturi would have lost soooo easy!!

Of course... the cullens didn´t want a fight, but it would have been nice if they taught the Volturi some type of lesson!! Maybe scare them of somehow!! And more so, if SM is really considering that Breking Dawn is the final book of the Twilight Saga!

I´m not entirely dissapointed with the end of Breaking Dawn, I just think that something is missing in the final chapters! A little more of action would have been nice, and still maintain the happy ending (I like happy endings)!!... I mean imagination has no limits!!

I was okay with the ending. I'm glad no one died, that would have totally sucked. I hope that maybe one day SM would give us more. *crossing fingers*

i was dissapointed with the ending. she could have had alice and jasper come in with like 20 bad *booty* vampires with "gifts" and stuff. that would have been so awesome. she could have brought that nahuel guy too just incase since the future changed. whatever i still liked the book and im exited for more!

I thought that the ending was a fitting way to finish the book. The entire series has been a blend of romance and suspense, among other things...not some action thriller. The tension and drama leading up to the peaceful resolution was enough to almost give me a heart attack! (Anyone else almost start bawling when they were saying goodbye to Jacob and Renesmee?!) And it's great that Bella ends up the hero, with her talent that forces the enemy to retreat without fighting. She doesn't have to actually kick someone's *booty* to be a bad*booty*... and that's awesome too.

i think the Volturi were taught a lesson, once they saw that there no was no way they could've won the battle they backed off. Mainly b/c they were scared of what Bella could do and i thought that was the best part. Here is this girl who had to be protected and was considered the " weak " one throughout the first three books and SM ends the book by making Bella the bad ass of the group, the one to be feared and i thought hat was AWESOME!!! Especially when Bella smiled at Jane in a sort of way of telling jane " yeah witch, get me now " that was so so so great !! I thought it ended in a great way. I want more !!!

For me, the ending was extremely anti-climatic. I was really hoping for more, but not necessarily a fight scene. I think a fight scene would have been extremely difficult to put into words since there were so many characters present. I don't know how Stephenie could have ended it better, so I will take what I can get.
